BURNA BOY – AFRICAN GIANT ALBUM REVIEW

The 19 track album ranges from declarations of love and romance from tracks such as gum body and secret to the artist identifying as a Nigerian in a raw and authentic way by tracks such as Another Story, Collateral Damage and African Giant.

Nigerian afro fusion singer and songwriter, Burna Boy officially released his fourth studio album African giant on July 26th 2019 in United States by Atlantic Records/Bad Habit .

Recording of the African giant album kicked off in 2018. Burna boy disclosed to Billboard Magazine that this was his most personalised album yet.

The African giant album has five leading singles.The Afrobeat and Reggae Fusion: “Gbona” released in September 2018; Kel P production “On the low”, “Killin dem”, “Dangote” and finally “Anybody” released on June 14th 2019. All this preepping us for the killer African Giant album.

Burna Boy’s mastery of the African sound stood out prominently in this album. He recently took to Trevor Noah’s Daily talk show stating that the basis of his music genre is Afrobase/Fusion from where he amalgamates other genres being Dancehall, Rap R&B and Soul.
