Bien of Sauti Sol Only Kenyan On Apple Music’s Top 100 List
Apple Music Top 100 list was dominated by Nigerian artists with 87 songs while Beyonce, Sam Smith, Drake, DJ Khaled & Chris Brown had 11 slots

Bien of Sauti Sol is the only Kenyan to appear on Apple Music’s Top 100 list with his two songs “Inauma” and “Dimensions” featuring Fully Focus appearing at number 36 and 87 respectively.

The top 100 list was dominated by Nigerian artists with 87 songs while Beyonce, Sam Smith, Drake, DJ Khaled and Chris Brown took 11 slots. Apple Music’s Top 100 songs list is curated every day with a list for every country.

The release of top 100 Kenya apple music has ignited a war of words between comedian Eric Omondi and Sauti Sol singer Bien Aime Baraza.

Eric Omondi said the release by apple music was a result of what he has been constantly trying to push for noting that the situation would get worse if Kenyan acts don’t rise to the occasion.

Taking to social media to express his thoughts on the matter while picking a fight with Bien, comedian Eric Omondi wrote, “So Apple Music released the Top 100 Songs in Kenya and only two are Kenyan and both belong to this guy!!! Let me explain to you why Bien is the only Kenyan on this list. He understands showbiz and he knows what the people want but he doesn’t want others to get to where he is and that’s why he fights my course so bitterly and passionately”

“Enyewe Witchcraft manifests in different forms. While Bien disagrees with me, he knows am right and is implementing the same things he is disagreeing with. Kama hio sio uchawi na roho chafu then I dont know what is. Bien is doing the right thing but he doesn’t want others to do the same ndio ikue tu ni yeye. I told you bien ni wale watu usoma usiku kama kila mtu amelala lakini mkiamka anawaambia “Twendeni tucheze Football”!!! Bien is a book we must all study to fully Understand Ingenuity, Hardwork and Witchcraft, added the comedian.

The reaction by the rib cracker did not take much time before Bien responded by questioning how much he had achieved in the laugh industry so as to question the success of Kenyan music.

“Because where is your Netflix comedy special? Or whatever metric they use to measure success in comedy. You take out your steam on music while comedy is on its deathbed,” Bien told off the comedian.

“You’re an idiot…Policy! Policy! Policy! …When systems are made right everybody wins. Stop embarrassing yourself looking for likes in the name of showbiz,” Bien added in part.

The release by apple music further saw Nigerians attack Kenyans on Twitter questioning whether Kenya had no musicians.
