The biggest and most awaited East African show finally premiered on August 4th, on Citizen TV at 20.00hrs. Topping the two trending topics in Kenya on Twitter, it sure captured a lot of attention all over East Africa.

The talent showcasing platform has been popular across countries like the USA, Britain, South Africa, and Nigeria. This is however quite a breakthrough for East Africa as we have been granted an equal opportunity to exhibit and be proud of what we can bring to the table.

East Africa’s got talent is a franchise owned by Simon Cowell and produced by South African film Production Company called Rapid Blue. The show allows individuals with a variety of talents to audition and eventually bag $50,000 by either: Singing, Dancing, Comedy, Magic, Juggling, Stunts and a variety of genres.

The participants will then be vetted by the judges as they keep showcasing their talents per different stages. In the previous contesting platforms, the viewers are given an opportunity to vote and save their favorite acts as they keep proceeding to the top stages. The judges are also assigned a specific group of acts that they mentor, guide and train in preparation of the season finale. We’re however yet to know how EAGT will be!

The lovely panel of judges for EAGT was carefully selected to represent all East African countries namely; Jeff Koinage (Kenya), Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania), Gaeton Kagwa(Uganda), Dj Mkeda (Rwanda).
