Magic Vibe Awards celebrates various personalities in the entertainment scene from music to sports in East Africa for the past year

Eric Omondi, Iyanii, and Sauti Sol are among the Kenyan winners of the just concluded Magic Vibe Awards held virtually from the Globe-News Center of Performing Arts in Amarillo, Texas.

Magic Vibe Awards celebrates various personalities in the entertainment scene from music to sports. Other top Kenyan artists who were also awarded include;  Otile Brown, and Femi One.

This was the first East Africa diaspora award celebrating achievers in entertainment from the region in the past year. The event run under the theme, Flavours of East Africa.

“Magic Vibe Awards is committed to rewriting the East African entertainment arts story by putting our artists on the world map,” the organizers said.

“Music aligns with the dream started by the Magic Vibe Awards because East African music is on the verge of a global breakthrough and we are proud to be part of this history. Magic Vibe Awards is the instrumental force that will aid in the crossover and commercial recognition.”

Sensational Kenyan musician Iyanii won the best east African new artist. The singer, who is currently flying high with ‘Furaha Remix’ featuring Tanzanian star Harmonize, took to his social media pages where he expressed gratitude to his fans by acknowledging that their support has enabled him to maintain a successful track record.

Iyanii beat other contestants in the category of Best East African New Artist like Ibraah (Tanzania), Smile The Genius (Tanzania), Rapcha (Tanzania), Platini P (Rwanda), and Marioo (Tanzania).

The awards brought together top artists from the region who contested to get top of the list of the most recognized artists in East Africa.

Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol emerged as the best East African group while Femi One took home the best African Female Hip Hop artist; Self-proclaimed president of comedy in Africa Eric Omondi clinched the best actor of the year.

From Tanzania, Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize won the video of the year for his Mtasubiri song featuring Zuchu while the latter won the best East African male R&B pop artist.
