Khaligraph, Femi, Sanaipei & Sauti Sol Nominated For AFRIMMA Awards
This year's AFRIMMA awards are tagged ‘This is Africa”, with an aim to further cement the legacy being created by talented African musicians

The 9th edition of the highly acclaimed African Muzik Magazine Awards commonly known as AFRIMMA awards is set to return with a live audience for the award ceremony.

This year’s AFRIMMA awards are aptly tagged ‘This is Africa”, with an aim to further cement the legacy being created by the various talented African musicians and are scheduled to take place on the 19th of November 2022 with a live audience at Gilley’s in Dallas, TX.  Indeed this is your active save-the-date call.

AFRIMMA 2022 ‘This is Africa’ edition is deemed as the celebration of this time; the time is Africa’s time. The world has caught on to the beauty and diversity of our sounds and the best we can do is dish more out of the abundant pot of talents as we cross more boundaries with African music. This is Africa!

The 2021 edition was tagged “Flavors of Africa” and the virtual audience was thrilled with a thorough feast of the different flavors of African Music.

Due to the advent of Covid-19, the past two editions of the AFRIMMA awards had been held virtually and live-streamed on YouTube. However, fans who had been yearning and asking when the live show would return can now heave a sigh of relief.

“We have missed having the live shows and having the audience rooting for the stars, this year promises to be even bigger than previous years. All I would say is stay tuned as more major announcements are set to be revealed,” said AFRIMMA CEO, Anderson Obiagwu

It has been a stellar year for African music and African music talents as the world is caught in Afrobeats frenzy, AFRIMMA is determined to continue crossing boundaries with music in supporting all African artists.

Established in 2014, the AFRIMMA Awards is the sole award ceremony in Diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.
