Khaligraph Nominated for 2020 BET Awards

Khaligraph Jones has been nominated for this year’s BET hip hop awards scheduled to take place on 27th October.

This is the first BET Award nomination for the rapper. He is among the two Africans nominees, the other being Nasty C from South Africa.

On his social media post, Papa Jones told his followers that he has been working hard and remembered how people laughed at him when he said he will make it to BET one day.

“Am good testimony of grass to grace and everyone knows I have been working hard,” he said.

“People made fun of me when I said I will one day make it to BET. They were laughing at me but even getting a nomination is phenomenal.”

“To all my fans, I love them. BET is not about voting, they had to check a lot of things before they shortlist you.” he said.

During an interview on Kiss, with Kamene and Jalas, Khaligraph said he didn’t know about the nomination until a friend tagged him on a BET post.

“I was excited and didn’t know I had been nominated until a friend tagged me on a BET post. I checked and realised it’s true. With the time and effort I have been putting, such results are expected. I am always very optimistic in most of my songs, I talk of God’s miracles that might happen in the future.” he said.

After the nominations, Kenyans and fellow musicians sent their congratulations messages.

Octopizzo, his fellow rapper in his post said; “We’ve always had our differences and that will remain like that. But congratulations Brayo, aka KJones on your BET nomination, all the best.”

Khaligraph Jones has been nominated for Best International Flow  among South Africa’s Nasty C, Brazil’s DJonga, France’s Kaaris  and Stormzy from the UK.

He posted on his social media page asking his fans to vote for him.
