This year’s edition of Kilifi New Years festival is set on December 30th 2019 to January 2nd 2020 held in Kilifi town.
Kilifi New year festival is a four day festival set to celebrate an amalgam of African electronic, alternative and dub-reggae music, fashion and fun, under the lush baobab trees of Kilifi. Hosted by ‘Beneath the Baobabs’; the festival is set beside the wild and stunning Takaungu Creek on the edge of the Indian Ocean.
This year’s edition is set to feature more upcoming East African musicians as well as acts from across the globe. These acts will be spread across three stages; covering a variety of genres from House and Techno mixed with some Live instruments to Dub Reggae and Bass music with influences from all around the world.
Kilifi New Year festival will also put a large focus on growing KISIMA, their Mind, Body and Soul area. Kisima is a peaceful delegated area set aside to connect with your inner self. Workshops, talks, discussions, therapies, art, performance and movement are a few examples of what Kisima offers.
The heart of Kilifi New Year Festival will be ‘The Burn’ a large recycled wooden structure symbolizing new beginnings and hope for a better future is burned forming a large exciting bonfire.
