Celebrated Kenyan hip hop artist King Kaka has commenced his journey in the filmmaking industry with the release of his debut movie Kamtupe.
This Kenyan thriller is the first movie out of King Kaka’s label Kaka Empire filmed in conjunction with Ambition Media House.
Kamtupe was written and directed by King Kaka and revolves around a government official who gets lost while trying to visit his relative. He ends up in the wrong neighborhood, is attacked by thugs and they end up in a possession of a laptop that has confidential information, that if leaked would throw the whole country in shambles.
The film was voiced by the seasoned media personality Jeff Koinange and features other big names in the Kenyan film industry like Jimmi Gathu who is the film’s protagonist, Stanley Obienji, Kelvin Musili, Joyce Maina, and many more.

The film is now screening at the Anga Sky Cinema in Nairobi since its premiere on 22 July.
