Medicine Man To Screen At 5th MyMovies.Africa Watch Party
Medicine Man is the Story of how a lone doctor overcomes the odds to redeem the community he so loves from the shackles of Witchcraft and enslaved by the ‘Power’ of a Warlock

The 5th monthly We Watch Kenyan Party sponsored by the Kenyan streaming platform MyMovies.Africa will feature ‘Medicine Man’ shot in Embu and directed by Simiyu Barasa.

Medicine Man is the Story of how a lone doctor overcomes the odds to redeem the community he so loves, but a community that is deeply shackled by Witchcraft, and enslaved by the ‘Power’ of a Warlock.

Dr. Ben Muriithi (Pish Kago) plays the Medicine Man who is a Medical Doctor working in a State Hospital in Nairobi.

The Medicine Man comes from a long line of Traditional Healers as his great-great-grandfather, his great-grandfather, his grandfather and his father were all well-known and respected Community Healers in Embu.

The Medicine Man appears to have a deep interest in Herbal & Alternative Medicine which prompts him to pursue medicine by joining a Medical School to learn more about modern Medicine.

Meanwhile, in his absence, his cousin – Gicovi Njoka (Sam Ukavi), is given the mantle to continue treating the community, in place of Muriithi – who is the true direct descendant of healers.

Gicovi also decides to dabble in witchcraft, due to greed and the desire for material wealth and power in present-day Kenya. Muriithi becomes aware of the problems this creates in his community, and cannot resist the duty to help his People – he is, after all, a Healer at heart.

The Medicine Man is forced to return home to set up a Research Facility on the healing powers of Herbal Remedies, combined with his knowledge of western Medical Science. Muriithi believes that the two can work together, to prevent further Deaths of his people from treatable Diseases.

Tickets are now on sale for the Medicine Man screening slated on Thursday 17th November 2022 from 6 pm to 10 pm at iHub, Senteu Plaza in Kilimani Nairobi.
