Nafsi film by Reuben Odanga starring Mumbi Maina and Kate Kamau is now streaming on Netflix, in Nafsi, friendship is put in jeopardy when a mutual agreement goes south.
Nafsi revolves around the touchy subject of surrogacy, the storyline focuses on Aisha, played by Mumbi Maina, and her inability to conceive after a traumatic childhood experience. When her best friend Shiko, played by Kate Kamau, offers to be her surrogate to help save her marriage, Aisha gladly accepts leading to a series of events threatening their close bond and those around them.
However, when the IVF process is successful, Aisha has a change of heart, she wants Shiko to terminate the pregnancy. Shiko is left feeling used and abandoned.
Written and directed by filmmaker Reuben Odanga, Nafsi explores several themes such as friendship, marriage, loyalty, and family among others.
