Good vibes at the Sol Generation Music Room by Sauti Sol, Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller, Crystal Asige and Kaskazini.

Now if you have had a chance to listen to the song you definitely know that it is a jam for days! Extravaganza is a chilled slow-motion rhumba song that I strongly believe will be an all-time classic. This is their first release featuring their newly mentored musical group that they earlier in the year launched with their first act, Bensol.

Sauti sol believes it’s time it groomed artists who can grow beyond the borders of Kenya and become globally recognized as it has since the birth of its musical journey a decade ago. That was a very wise, generous and impactful decision by the boys. One that will not only promote but also nurture the musical talent we have in this country.

Most of us we must had assumed that Bensoul was the only member of Sol generation after the back to back releases he did in a span of two months. Little did we know that something bigger was cooking behind the scenes and that is when they took us by surprise by not only revealing one more member but four more! Making it a total of six members of the Sol generation namely; Bensoul, Nviiri the storyteller, Kaskazini… a band consisting of three gents and last but not least also one I am particularly happy about, a lady known as Crystal Asige.

Well played Sauti Sol, you did remarkably well.

The reveal came in the form of a song and they did not come to play. I find Extravaganza to be a proverbial kind of song. One might not really get the gist of the song unless they are properly exposed to the Kenyan slang, which I find very smart and authentic. The blend from the harmonies and the instrumentals is seamless. It effortless hits right and gets you on your feet and moving to the sound of the rhythm.

Let me just stress that this is a timeless jam and I cannot wait for many more surprises from this gang.

In case you have not yet had a taste of the song, find it in the link below and may it bless your eardrums.
