Meet Amalie Chopetta, a 27 year old award-winning actress, voice over artist and model from Mombasa.

She has appeared in several films, series, and theatre productions. You may have seen her in SAIDA, Pray and Prey, and Maza.

Amalie's unique ability to portray a varied range of characters has been recognized by The Kenya Film Commission's Kalasha Awards in 2014, where she won Best Supporting Actress for her role "Zena" in SAIDA.

She is currently in her fourth year studying Electronic Media at Daystar University.

AFRICAN SPACE MAKERS has been officially selected to the Venice VR Expanded Competition, at the 77th Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica 2020.

This is the first-ever 360 interactive mockumentary made in Africa and the first time a Kenyan VR film has been selected at Venice - a historical moment for African creativity.

The journey started in Nairobi and tells the story of five amazing urban collectives, Maasai Mbili, Brush Tu, Keroche, and the graffiti artists of the Railway's Station Museum, Jessy and the skaters of Sunken Park, EA-WAVE and the Jaba Juicers. It's about space makers and their Afro-Punk ethos "do it yourself", create your own space, support creativity, and work out your own way!
