Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, FILM IN AFRICA and Robert Bosch Foundation proudly announce our upcoming workshop focusing on:

ASSISTANT DIRECTING
taking place
from December 14th to 18th
@ ZOOM

Application deadline: 4th of December
Notification of selection: 8th of December
Only successful participants will be contacted!

What will you get:
- Hands-On Training from international and local mentors as well as teachers from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
- An understanding of the function of an AD as an important bridge between the creative and the logistical demands of a project
- An overview of the different roles in the AD department and how they all serve the project
- Introduction to the principles of the script breakdown process
- Introduction to the principles of shoot scheduling
- An overview of local film, associations and union laws that affect the process of scheduling and shooting
- Hands on Training on the use of Scheduling Software.

Eligibility Criteria:
- emerging 1st ADs with over three years of experience in the industry
- from Geographical East Africa
- Organization and communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Passion for cinema & curiosity for the process of film making, from script to shooting.
- Stable internet connection
- Availability during all five days of the workshop
- Fluency in English

Application Requirements:
Resume (including a Portrait Photo) and Portfolio of work credited as a crew member in any department.
