Nigerian Afro-Pop artist, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, famously known as Wizkid, recently sold out more than 60,000 tickets for his third O2 arena show that’s set for December 1st in minutes.
Wizkid has an annual ritual of holding the 02 concerts in London, which makes it one of the most anticipated shows of the year.
A month ago, the Grammy-winning artist revealed that this year’s show would take place on the 28th and 29th of November and the shows sold out in a record of 12 minutes.
However, lots of fans expressed their disappointment as they hadn’t secured tickets for both shows and due to popular demand, a third show was scheduled for December 1st and just like the other two, it sold out in minutes.
Wizkid has since taken to his social media platforms to express gratitude for the immense love and support accorded by his fans.
The celebrated artist released his fourth album Made in Lagos in October 2020. Since then, the album spent a total of 41 weeks on the World album chart and it debuted on the number two spot in November 2020, eventually securing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard world album chart a couple of weeks ago.
The album was also the very first African album to premier on the Spotify Global Album chart at top ten positions a week shy after its release.
The Made in Lagos album gained global recognition early this year after various international celebrities put ‘Essence’, the eleventh song in the album in the spotlight.
Canadian star Justin Bieber also jumped on this wagon and they released a remixed version of the song and it equally sits at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard world digital song sales chart.

Burna Boy also had a sold-out show on the 27th of August on the same premises. The 02 arena in London has a capacity of 20,000.
