Celebrated Tanzanian singer and songwriter Zuhura Othman Soud a.k.a. Zuchu has made history as the the most subscribed female artiste in the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Bongo star has been making big waves since she hit the airwaves a mere two years ago; She keeps breaking records and her numbers keep soaring higher and higher. Barely a month ago, she became the most watched female artist in East Africa.
Zuchu has now amassed a total of 2.1 million subscribers on YouTube toppling Yemi Alade who stood at the top for quite some time. She expressed gratitude and honored her fellow female artists through her Instagram account saying, “Thank you so much this Is So Unreal much Respect to All My Queens Who paved A way for the new generation.”
Zuchu made it to the limelight with the release of ‘Sukari’ song which made history by clocking 1 million views in 22 hours. The song now stands at 45 million views. She also became the first female artiste in East Africa to receive the YouTube gold play button for garnering 1 million subscribers.
Diana Marua, a.k.a Diana Bahati is the only Kenyan female artist to be on the top ten list of most subscribed female artists.

Not many people know that Zuchu comes from a musical background. She is the daughter of legendary taarab singer Khadija Kopa and began music at a tender age. She made her official entrance into the industry just last year and has one EP out.
